Higher Financial Requirement for Indian Students Applying for Canada
From September 1, 2026, international students applying for a Canadian study permit must demonstrate CAD 23,448 in living expenses for one person, excluding tuition fees and transportation costs. The change from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) the federal department responsible for processing student permits and it affects every applicant regardless of of which institution or province they are headed to.
